Lack of Sleep and Junk Food

On the news this morning, I heard that scientists claim a chemical is released in the brain of people who do not get enough sleep, which causes them to eat more junk food. I don't know if that's true or not ... and I'm leaning towards not ... but having been sleep deprived most of my adult life, I do know that many times I go for quick rather than nutritious! My choice of food has nothing to do with chemicals in my brain, and everything to do with exhaustion.

I would search for the study and read it in it's entirety, but I'm too tired because the donut holes I ate for breakfast are starting to wear off.
