I took this is picture while out walking the other day. They are my oldest daughter's favorite flower. As a child she always wanted me to plant them. I did one year, but I wasn't pleased with them. When they are blooming, they are gorgeous, but after the flowers are spent, you have to wait for new blooms to set, so there are dormant periods when you just have the foliage. Even though I don't plant them anymore, I love that other people do ... and it always makes me smile when I see them blooming.
