Remnants of Davy

It's impossible not to think of Davy all day, every day. The few seconds that he's not on my mind, I open the fridge or pantry, and I'm reminded him in the hot sauce and ramen noodles he brought over, the siracha I bought for one specific recipe and keep because Davy likes it, and the giant jug of Ray's barbecue sauce I bought because he slathers that on most everything.

I'll likely keep the noodles forever, and I'll reluctantly throw away the sauces when I'm forced to because they've grow mold.

It's impossible to get away from memories of him, but I'm glad. While thinking of him immediately causes my stomach to seize ... memories, photo's, and a few memento's are all I have left of a life once so full of promise.

If only a Good Samaritan had driven by and given him a ride that night before that heartless monster drove through, mowed him down, kept on driving, then went home and got into their warm bed ... knowing full well they had hit (and likely killed) another human being. I hope the thought of what they did makes them vomit and steals their sleep ... just as what they did makes my stomach knot and twist in pain and robs me of my sleep.
